Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
• The Electrical Engineer performs a wide rangeof duties including some or all of the following:
• Review tenderdocuments, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, BEDD etc.;
• Receive allocated duties and reviews enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work (SOW)to understand what is required. Raise queries where there is lack of clarity. Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities;
• Prepare specifications, data sheets and undertakes calculations to meet requirements of allocated tasks;
• Prepare electrical load schedule basedon process, mechanical and instrumentation input;
• Prepare equipment sizing calculations including cable sizing, lighting & earthing calculations;
• Prepare handdrawn sketches for Designer/Draftsman to prepare drawings;
• Check drawings prepared by Draftsman / Designer / Engineer;
• Review / prepare thematerial requisitions, including the Bill of Materials; specifications; datasheets/drawings; inspection test requirements; and vendor data requirements;
• Undertake technical evaluations of vendoroffers for the more complex items to ensure material requisition technical details are satisfied;
• Review / prepare MTO / BOQ;
• Vendor follow-ups, checking of vendordrawings & documents;
• Co-ordination withother disciplines as required, ensuring success of multi-discipline project parallel working;
• Undertake pre-engineering site surveys in order to provide inputinformation to facilitate detailed engineering;
• Receive “asbuilt” information fromthe Project Management Team, review contentand, if
• satisfied, passes to drafting for production of drawings;
• Visit Sites as required to solve engineering problems at site if required.
Authorities and Accountabilities:
• The Electrical Engineer doesn’t havedefined authorities at the moment. All major decisions and
• actions related to electrical worksmust be in consultation withthe Principal Electrical Engineer /
• Senior Electrical Engineer. However, he/shecan offer adviceand suggestions to other engineering disciplines and functions, which includes the right to propose new ideas in an attempt to make improvements in line with project management operations.
• Accountable to Principal Electrical Engineer / SeniorElectrical Engineer for the following:
• Ensuring properexecution and completion of specific projecttasks in compliance with Company standards, procedures and best practices; and in a timely manner;
• Ensuring the quality of engineering services and processes applied in the projects, protection of the environment for which it operates and ensuring the health and safety of his/her own and thatof other membersof the Project Team through compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and other system implemented at CPPE – Abu Dhabi branch office.
EDUCATION AND WORKEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in any engineering discipline from a
• reputable college or university;
• Minimum of 8 years proven work experience in petro-chemical/oil and gas industry;
• Experience in using thecomputer software for engineering, e.g.EDSA, ETAP, etc.;
• Experience of engineering workin FEED/EPC projects;
• Conversant withinternational Standards in electrical engineer.
SP3D KNOWLEDGE IS A MUST
