Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
You will design parts, products, equipment, or complete installations based on technical specifications, orders, and customer needs. Depending on requirements, you may also coordinate the work of a team.
Your key tasks include:
• Conducting mechanical design studies, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic layout plans, and interfaces with civil engineering/metal structures for one or multiple machines or installations, ensuring manufacturing, weight, assembly, usability, and maintenance constraints.
• Monitoring equipment interfaces with other engineering specialties.
• Reviewing and accepting internal or subcontracted studies.
• Preparing validation files and participating in design reviews.
• Supporting supplier consultations from a technical perspective.
• Contributing to technical, maintenance, and site preparation documentation.
• Occasionally engaging in on-site or workshop activities (assembly and testing).
• Meeting deadlines, quality, and cost objectives for assigned studies.
• Sharing project experience with stakeholders (Studies, Sales, Project Management, and Product Management).
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum education: 3 years post graduate - Minimum 5 years of design experience for steel industry
• Key competencies: Rigor, synthesis skills, initiative, independence, and good interpersonal skills.
• Software proficiency: 2D CAD (Autodesk AutoCAD) and 3D CAD (SolidEdge or SolidWorks).
• Technical knowledge: mechanical design, ISO functional dimensioning, calculation of material strength
• Technical English (written and spoken).
• Travel: Occasional travel in France and internationally
