Posi on: COBie Expert / Asset Information Manager
Project: STP & BUILDINGS
Location: MANGALORE
Reports To: BIM Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a data-centric COBie Expert to own the Asset Informa on Model (AIM)
delivery for a critical utility infrastructure project. This role focuses on data quality, validation,
and the seamless transfer of asset data (Pumps, Valves, Electrical Panels) from Revit into the
Client’s CAFM system via COBie spreadsheets, ensuring 100% compliance with the Employer
Informa on Requirements (EIR).
Key Responsibilities
1. COBie Strategy & Implementation
* Implement the project-specific COBie schema (Construction Operations Building
Informa on Exchange) based on Uniclass 2015 and DGCL Asset Requirements.
* Configure the "COBie Extension for Revit" for all discipline models (Arch, Struct, MEP),
ensuring automated and consistent data export.
* Map internal Revit parameters (e.g., "Air Flow") to the required COBie a ributes (e.g.,
"AirFlowRate") using parameter mapping tables.
2. Data Valida on & Audit (QA/QC)
* Perform weekly data audits on Federated Models to check for missing asset codes, blank
fields, or incorrect naming conventions.
* Use tools like Autodesk Model Checker or Xrev Transmit to validate that every piece of
mechanical equipment has its required unique ID (Tag Number).
* Resolve data consistency errors (e.g., duplicated GUIDs or Type Names) before official
submission.
3. Asset Tagging & Classifica on
* Manage the System Classifica on workflow, ensuring every pipe run and duct system is
correctly assigned to its parent system (e.g., "Sludge Return System").
* Collaborate with the Process Engineers to ensure the P&ID Tag Numbers match the Revit
Element proper es exactly.
4. Handover & FM Integration
* Prepare the final COBie.xlsx drops for submission to the Client’s Aconex system at each
milestone (Design, Construc on, As-Built).
* Create the "Space/Room Data Sheets" by extracting room proper es (Finish, Area,
Occupancy) directly from the model.
* Train the design team on how to input non-geometric data (Warranty dates, Manufacturer
info) into the model.
