Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Posi on: BIM Coordinator – MEPF (Process & Utilites)
Project: STP & BUILDINGS
Location: MANGALORE
Reports To: BIM Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced MEPF BIM Coordinator to lead the digital delivery of
Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for a complex Sewage
Treatment Plant facility. The role requires specialized coordination of large-bore process
piping, industrial cabling, and plant equipment within concrete water-retaining structures.
Key Responsibilities
1. MEPF Modeling & Coordination
* Manage and audit MEPF Revit models (LOD 300 to LOD 400) for Admin buildings, Industrial
sheds (Blowers/Dewatering), and Tank complexes.
* Crucial: Coordinate complex Process Piping networks (sludge, sewage, chemical dosing)
ensuring gravity flow slopes and invert levels match the Hydraulic Profile.
* Validate clearance zones for large industrial equipment (Centrifuges, Blowers, Scrapers)
and maintenance access routes.
2. Clash Detection & Resolution
* Run weekly Federated Model checks in Navisworks Manage.
* Prioritize and resolve critical clashes, specifically:
* Hard Clashes: Large pipes vs. Concrete Beams/Columns.
* So Clashes: Maintenance access vs. Cable Trays/Ducts.
* Lead inter-disciplinary coordination workshops with Structural and Process Engineers to
resolve routing issues before site execution.
3. Data & Information Management
* Ensure all MEP assets are modeled with correct parameters (Flow Rate, Material, RPM) to
support COBie data drops.
* Manage family creation for specialized STP equipment (Valves, Penstocks, Submersible
Pumps).
* Enforce the project’s Naming Convention and CDE workflow (Autodesk Construction
Cloud).
4. Documentation & Quality Control (QA/QC)
* Generate clash-free shop drawings, sleeve drawings for wall penetrations, and Builder’s
Work Connection info (BWIC) from the model.
* Raise RFI (Request for Information) for missing invert levels, pipe sizes, or conflicting P&ID
schematics.
Requirements
* Education: B.E./ B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Experience: 4–8 years in BIM, with at least 2 years on Industrial, Utility, or Infrastructure
projects (Water/STP experience preferred).
Software Proficiency:
* Expert: Autodesk Revit (MEP), Navisworks Manage.
* Proficient: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), AutoCAD.
Technical Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of Gravity Piping systems (slope requirements).
* Strong understanding of MEPF systems and coordination’s.
* Familiarity with "Water Retaining Structures" and concrete penetration rules.
* Ability to read P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and convert them to 3D.
Key Competencies
* Proactive: Identifies "unbuildable" designs in the model before they reach the site.
* Communicator: Can explain technical clashes to non-BIM engineers clearly.
* Detail-Oriented: Strict adherence to LOD standards and Project BEP.
