Job Description
REQUIRED SECURITY GUARDS:
Monitoring premises, controlling access, responding to emergencies, and writing incident reports to ensure the safety of people and property. Key duties involve patrolling areas, operating surveillance equipment, and enforcing rules, with more advanced roles requiring leadership, security system installation, and complex investigations.
Key responsibilities
• Patrolling and monitoring: Regularly patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to maintain order and look for suspicious activity. Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, and inspect buildings and equipment for security breaches.
• Access control: Monitor and authorize the entry and exit of people, vehicles, and employees. This can include checking IDs and issuing visitor passes.
• Emergency response: Respond to emergencies such as fires, medical situations, or security threats. Apprehend trespassers or unauthorized individuals and contact law enforcement or medical professionals when necessary.
• Reporting and documentation: Complete daily activity reports and detailed incident reports, including observations, evidence, and surveillance footage. Maintain security logs.
• Enforcement and assistance: Enforce post orders, company procedures, and security policies. Provide assistance to guests and staff as needed.
Skills and qualifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong observational skills and judgment.
• Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods, and sometimes lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of surveillance equipment and security systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent is often required.
• Specific licenses or certifications, such as an unarmed security guard license or CPR/First Aid certification, may be necessary.
