Responsible for the timely and safe delivery of packages to customers by planning efficient routes, loading and unloading items, and collecting payments. Key duties include verifying customer details, updating delivery status, handling returned packages, and ensuring the vehicle is maintained. This role also requires strong customer service and adherence to traffic laws.
Core responsibilities
• Delivery execution: Delivering packages to designated locations, ensuring they are handed over to the correct recipient after verifying their details.
• Route planning: Planning efficient daily travel routes to meet delivery deadlines and avoid traffic.
• Loading and unloading: Carefully loading and unloading packages onto and from the delivery vehicle.
• Customer service: Providing professional and friendly customer service, answering questions, and addressing complaints.
• Payment processing: Collecting cash payments from customers and maintaining accurate transaction records.
• Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of deliveries and updating delivery status upon completion.
• Vehicle maintenance: Ensuring the company vehicle is kept in good condition and reporting any issues.
• Safety and compliance: Adhering to all traffic laws and company safety guidelines during all deliveries.
• Problem-solving: Investigating any discrepancies with packages and reporting road accidents or traffic disruptions to a supervisor.
